Animal Welfare

I’m no animal rights looney, but there is something wrong when Singapore’s SPCA has to ‘humanely destroy’ almost 10000 animals in a year (including 2200 dogs and 5500 cats). [Source: SPCA Annual Report 2004].

Why are so many pets sold in pet shops, when so many are then dumped and/or abused?
