Are You Planning for Your Retirement?

When we are very busy at work, we have little energy or time left at the end of each day to get our finances in order.

Then the day arrives when we start thinking about how to fund our retirement. I wish someone had sat me down when I was young and helped me on the path of financial independence. All that energy I put into work should have been moderated with some time and energy being put into learning about investing - and then actually doing it. I don’t regret working hard - it was fun for the most part - but it was my only focus for too many years.

I’m wondering what the poverty levels of the retired are going to look like in 20 years’ time. In most countries, governments will simply run out of funds when a smaller workforce has to support a large and growing retired population. And with growing life expectancies, a lot of people will be retired for almost as long as they were working.

So stop reading this and start working on your written investment goals… :-)

So true! Will this mean compulsory retirement ages will cease to exist?
