Following from an earlier Bb post, here are some of my other requests for the Bb developers to consider:

• Survey: This is clearly just a modified “quiz” module. For instructors, the interface is confusing: “Create quiz question now” and for users it is scary: “Are you sure you want to take this assessment now?”. It should be revamped and made clearly into a separate “survey” module, with appropriate instruction nomenclature.
• Aborted test: When a student gives up on a test/survey (clicks out of it or closes the window) Bb flags it and doesn’t allow the user back in. Fine, but often students get locked out for all sorts of reasons and if the instructor is not monitoring it, the student is locked out for good. It needs an email (or RSS-based) alert so both know what is going on.
• e-Portfolio: There needs to be a folder system in “Received Portfolios” so the isntructor can group the portfolios. I have about 50 received portfolios across 3 semesters but they are all listed together (in some peculiar order). It makes it diffciult to find the one you want to see.
• Statistics: Stats handling is not good for large classes (it breaks and times out for classes bigger than 1000). Also, the stats tables are hard to read (they need colour coding for columns)
• Posting: If the user gets distracted when writing in the discussion board and then posts later, it will have timed out and your whole post is lost. There has to be a better way.
• Calendar: The calendar could be more flexible (if I have a course that is on once per week, I’d like to just list those dates. In Moodle, the calendar is the first thing that students see each login.

I will add more wishlist items here as I think of them.
