Friday math movie – Photosynth
This week’s movie (from TED) is about amazing ways to present photos.
And of course, there is some neat math going on behind the scenes as the software can stitch together photos taken from many different angles. It also intelligently provides an overhead view, a 2D view and a 3D “point cloud”.
When you’re done watching, go check out the Photosynth site. This is one of the better things to come out of Microsoft labs.
(OK, Photosynth has been around for a few years but this was my first look.)
