How was math today?
I’m interested to know how your math lesson was today. I’m not necessarily talking about the math lesson you had in some classroom – you can also learn mathematics in:
- an informal discussion with a friend
- while doing your assignment/homework
- while doing a Web-based tutorial
- while searching the internet for answers to specific questions
- while using a math learning object (something like the Flash interactives on Interactive Mathematics)
- while solving some problem at work
- while teaching someone else
- whatever
In other words, what works for you and what is a waste of time?

Dear Murray: I’m studying for the ham radio extra license and many of the questions use logarithms and math symbols I’m not familiar with. Radio is a hobby with me and I did not study trig and logs in high school. I need a clear path to follow. By the way, I am 92 years young, play the violin, and lots of other things to make life interesting. Please respond! Will

Hi Will
Thanks for sharing. Good on you, at 92 years young, for continuing your learning journey!
You can always start on this page: Exponents and Radicals and then work through Exponential and Logarithmic Equations.
Feel free to ask questions if you get stuck.
