No IE

I am developing a new site for work. We are using Wordpress and will be using it basically as a content management system.

Everything was going well (rearranging pages, fixing links, adding favicon, messing with colours, etc) and I then checked it in IE. Wak - things were all over the place - DIVs were out of alignment, or too big. Images were not showing in the excerpts. Also, the links were not behaving - the URL showing in the address bar was always the root of the site - not where we actually were. Grrrr… :-(

After quite a bit of trial and error, I found it was some floating div problems. Only an issue in IE - all other browsers were okay.
