Seeing Math
The US education scene is hopping because of the No Child Left Behind act. They are worried that their teachers may not be up to speed for preparing students for the standardised tests. One initiative to help mathematics instructors is Seeing Math.
Seeing Math includes some Java-based mathematics manipulatives – they are quite cool. (Normally I run the other direction when I see Java-based Web activities since they are usually clunky and often take forever to load. But these are quite small and have some nice features.).
There are some attempts at making things problem-based – but I would like to see more. Worth a look, though.
