The Beslan bedlam – one year on

I saw an interesting documentary on the Beslan school tragedy on Australian cable. It seems that the whole thing was badly handled by the Russian authorities (some of this came out at the time, but the extent of the ineptitude was staggering.)

What I hadn’t heard before was that many children disappeared on the final day – kidnapped, or worse. It was such chaos that apparently people were offering the kids a ride to the hospital and then they abducted them. There are many parents who have no body, and no child, and no closure. Tragic.
